Candles for Gifting in India

Picking a gift for someone you do not know intimately is hard. A clothing item might not fit. Jewellery might not match their taste. A bottle of something assumes their preferences. A candle assumes only that they have a home, and that they like that home to smell good — which is almost everyone.

Candles also scale beautifully across occasions. The same product line that works for a birthday gift works for a thank-you, a Diwali present for the team, a housewarming for a friend who just moved cities, an anniversary, a small Raksha Bandhan parcel, or a corporate client. The packaging changes, the candle stays the same.

Most importantly, a candle is a gift that gets used. A vase sits in a cupboard. A picture frame goes on a wall. A candle gets lit on a Tuesday evening when the recipient comes home tired, fills the room with something warm, and reminds them — gently, without effort — of the person who sent it.

If you know the person well, lean into a fragrance that suits them. People who keep clean, minimal homes tend to enjoy white tea, cotton, sea salt and fig. People who love food often gravitate to coffee, vanilla and caramel notes. Travellers and aesthetes often respond to oud, sandalwood, leather and tobacco. Young couples and new parents tend to enjoy lavender, chamomile and soft florals.

If you do not know them well, default to universal: a clean vanilla, a soft sandalwood, a fresh coffee, a light jasmine. These four are the closest a candle gets to a safe bet. Avoid the heavier oud, the strong spices and the very gourmand sweet fragrances for someone whose taste you cannot read.

If the recipient lives in a small apartment, stay on the lighter side. A heavy oud in a one-bedroom flat can be overwhelming. If they live in a larger home, you have room to be bolder.

Birthdays. A single candle in a heavy glass jar with a hand-written note is one of the most reliably loved gifts you can send.

Anniversaries. Pair two candles in complementary fragrances — a fig and a vetiver, a rose and an oud — and present them together. Couples appreciate that the gift acknowledges them as two people who share a home.

Weddings. Wedding return gifts have moved on from sweets and silver. A small soy candle with a custom label printed with the couple's names lands beautifully and your guests will actually use it.

Custom hampers are available from quantity 25 upward. You choose the candles, the additional items (we can include chocolates from partner brands, custom-printed cards, branded items for corporate use) and the box design. Lead time is typically two to three weeks depending on candle availability.

At checkout, add the recipient's address as the shipping address. Add your personal message in the gift message field. Tick the gift wrap option if you want our premium ribbon-tied box. We pack, label and ship without including any invoice or pricing inside the parcel. The recipient sees only your message and the candle.

We ship across India and most metros receive orders within three to five working days. Smaller towns take seven to ten days. For time-sensitive occasions like birthdays we strongly recommend ordering at least a week in advance — the postal service is reliable but not always fast.

If you are sending to multiple recipients (a list of clients, family members in different cities), we offer a bulk gift form. Submit the list once with each recipient's address and message, pay once, and we will handle the individual shipments.
