What about return, exchange & cancellation of the product?

You can take your time to select the product. Read the description carefully and place your order only when you're sure. Once an order is placed it cannot be cancelled, exchanged or returned. Some products are delicate and fragile and we take our best care of the packaging — if any damage happens during transit we can replace it only when you can provide an unboxing video as proof.

What is the processing time on orders?

Once an order is placed there is a 24–48 hour processing window. Shipping happens Monday to Saturday only. Typical delivery is 5–7 business days for domestic orders. Actual delivery depends on the postal service. Once the package is handed over to the courier we are not responsible for delays, re-routes or failed deliveries. For status concerns, write to us via email or Instagram.

Do you use any wax blends?

Only natural wax blends and oils — soy wax, beeswax, coconut wax and similar.

Are the flowers you use in your candles real or fake?

The flowers we use in our candles are real and naturally sun-dried.

Can we burn the candles in a closed room?

We would say definitely not. Candles should always be burnt in well-ventilated areas or rooms.

How can I ensure my soy candle burns evenly and lasts longer?

To preserve the life of your Flickermelt candle, the first light is the most critical. Always allow the molten soy wax to reach every edge of the glass vessel before extinguishing. This prevents tunnelling and ensures a clean, level surface for future burns. Before each subsequent lighting, trim the cotton wick to five millimetres. This simple ritual controls the flame height and prevents soot from marring the scent profile. During the humid Indian monsoon, keep your candle away from open windows and drafts to maintain a steady temperature. By following these steps, you allow the hand-poured oils to release their fragrance slowly, honouring the patience of the craft.

How do I ensure my soy wax candle burns evenly without tunnelling?

To honour the slow-living philosophy of our hand-poured soy wax, the first burn is the most critical. Always allow the molten pool to reach the very edge of the glass vessel before extinguishing the flame. This memory-setting process usually takes two to three hours and prevents a hollow core from forming. Before setiap relighting, trim the cotton wick to five millimetres to ensure a clean, steady glow without soot. These simple rituals of care protect the integrity of the fragrance, ensuring your Flickermelt candle remains a sensory centrepiece from the first lighting until the final pour of wax remains.

Why does my candle surface look slightly frosted or uneven after it has cooled?

If you notice a delicate, crystalline texture or a slight ripple on the surface after your candle has set, please consider it a hallmark of authenticity. We work exclusively with pure soy wax, a temperamental botanical medium that reacts to local humidity and the cooling air of Indore. Unlike paraffin blends, natural soy often crystallises as it returns to a solid state. This 'frosting' is purely aesthetic; it does not alter the fragrance throw or the steady rhythm of the flame. It is simply proof that your Flickermelt candle is free from synthetic stabilisers, reflecting the honest, unrefined beauty of small-batch Indian craftsmanship.

Is it necessary to trim the cotton wick before every light?

To maintain a clean flame and the integrity of our hand-poured soy wax, trimming the wick to roughly five millimetres is essential before every use. This small ritual prevents the charred mushroom effect that can cause soot to cloud your glass vessel. By removing the carbon-heavy tip of the previous burn, you ensure a steadier, smaller flame that draws fragrance oil efficiently without overheating the wax. This practice not only preserves the clarity of the scent but also extends the life of your candle, allowing the notes of an Indore monsoon or a quiet afternoon to unfurl precisely as intended.

What is the best way to safely extinguish my candle to preserve the fragrance quality?

To protect the delicate perfume oils within our soy blends, we recommend using a snuffer or gently dipping the wick into the liquid wax pool rather than blowing it out. When a flame is snuffed by breath, it creates a plume of soot and a lingering acrid scent that can mask the subtle notes of central Indian flora or spiced woods you have spent hours cultivating. By submerging the wick momentarily, you eliminate smoke entirely and prime the cotton for its next journey. This small act of mindfulness ensures your living space remains a sanctuary of pure aroma, mirroring the quiet transition of a dusk sky over Indore.

How do your scents perform in different Indian climates, such as the humid monsoon season?

Our soy wax blends are specifically formulated in Indore to remain stable across India’s diverse transitions. During the heavy humidity of the monsoon, moisture in the air can sometimes dampen a scent’s throw. To experience the full depth of our fragrances during the rains, we suggest burning your candle in a space with soft airflow rather than direct wind. The dense, cool air of the season actually helps hold the heavier base notes of spice and wood closer to the ground, creating a more intimate, cocooning atmosphere. Because we use high-quality perfume oils, the fragrance remains distinct and clear, never becoming cloying despite the damp heat.

How do I ensure my Flickermelt candle burns evenly without wasting wax?

To honour the slow-pouring process of our soy wax, your first burn is the most vital. Allow the flame to flicker until the molten pool reaches every edge of the glass vessel. This usually takes two to three hours and prevents 'tunnelling,' where wax remains trapped on the sides. Before each subsequent lighting, trim the cotton wick to five millimetres. This simple ritual ensures a steady flame and prevents soot, preserving the purity of the scent. By following these steps, you allow the fragrance to transform your space consistently from the first light until the final millimetres of wax gently fade.

Can I repurpose the glass vessel once the wax has been spent?

Inherently, luxury lies in longevity. When your candle reaches its final centimetre of soy wax, we encourage you to breathe new life into the heavy-bottomed glass. Simply pour hot water into the vessel to lift any remaining residue, then cleanse with mild soap and a soft cloth. These jars are designed to endure, finding a second purpose on a writing desk to hold brass nibs, or atop a vanity for stalks of dried jasmine. By repurposing our hand-poured vessels, you continue the cycle of slow living that began in our Indore studio, long after the final flicker has faded.

How do you ensure the safety of your fragrances for those with sensitive senses?

We formulate our scents with a deep respect for the air you breathe within your home. Every hand-poured batch in Indore utilises premium perfume oils that are completely free from phthalates and parabens. Unlike mass-produced paraffin alternatives that can trigger subtle discomfort, our vegetable-based soy wax provides a clean, predictable burn that carries fragrance without harsh chemical undertones. By omitting synthetic fixatives, we create a sensory experience that is rich and evocative, yet gentle enough for the quiet corners of your living space. If you are particularly sensitive, we suggest choosing our lighter, botanical-forward blends that mirror the soft, earthy scent of rain hitting parched soil.

Does the candle container become hot enough to damage my wooden surfaces?

We select heavy-bottomed glass vessels designed to withstand the gentle heat of a slow-burning soy wick, yet we always advise caution to protect your furniture. As the flame nears the base of the jar, the concentrated warmth may affect delicate finishes or vintage wood grains. To honour the craft of slow living and preserve your surfaces, please place your candle on a heat-resistant tray or a stone coaster. This layer of protection allows you to enjoy the unfolding scent of an Indore monsoon or a festive evening without concern for the material beneath the vessel.

Does the intensity of the scent change as the candle burns down towards the base?

Our Indore studio follows a meticulous curing process to ensure scent consistency from the first light to the final flicker. We hand-pour our soy wax at specific temperatures that allow the fragrance oils to bind uniformly throughout the entire column of wax. This prevents the aroma from pooling at the bottom or evaporating prematurely from the top. As you navigate the life of your candle, you will find the olfactory narrative remains steady, whether you are enjoying the initial notes or the deeper base layers near the end of the vessel. The slow-burning nature of soy ensures that the perfume is released in measured, sensory waves rather than a singular, overwhelming burst.

What is the shelf life of a hand-poured soy candle if I wish to save it for a special occasion?

To experience our Indore-poured scents at their peak, we recommend lighting your vessel within twelve months of purchase. Because we skip the harsh chemical stabilisers found in mass-market alternatives, the botanical perfume oils and natural soy wax are at their most vibrant during this window. If you are tucking a candle away for a future festival or a monsoon evening, store it in a cool, dark cupboard away from direct sunlight. This preserves the nuanced top notes and ensures the wax remains smooth. Over time, natural oils may shift slightly in colour, but this is merely a sign of the organic materials breathing within their glass home.

Does the placement of my candle near a window or air conditioning vent affect the fragrance quality?

To preserve the nuanced layers of our hand-poured soy wax, we recommend placing your vessel away from direct air currents. In our Indore studio, we design scents for a slow, vertical release. When a Flickermelt candle sits in the path of a draft, it causes the flame to flicker unevenly, which can lead to one-sided burning and the premature dissipation of delicate perfume notes. A stable atmosphere allows the soy wax to maintain an optimal temperature, ensuring the mid and base notes emerge with the intended depth. For the best sensory experience, seek a quiet, still corner where the fragrance can bloom and linger naturally through yours rooms.

Can I arrange several Flickermelt candles together to create a layering of different scents?

To craft a bespoke atmosphere, you may certainly practice scent scaping by lighting two harmonising vessels at once. In our Indore studio, we design each fragrance profile with a balanced architectural depth that allows for understated layering. We recommend choosing scents with a shared botanical or woody base to ensure they entwine gracefully rather than compete. When grouping candles, maintain a distance of at least ten centimetres between vessels to prevent the heat from one affecting the slow-burn rate of the other. This curated approach transforms your space into a sensory tapestry, reflecting the textured heritage of Indian craftsmanship through a modern, aromatic lens.

Does the specific type of storage container I use for my unlit candles affect the potency of their essential oils?

In our Indore studio, we view the storage of your vessel as a quiet preservation of its soul. If you choose to keep your candles in a cupboard or drawer, ensure they are kept in their original boxes or wrapped in acid-free tissue. Storing unlit soy wax in porous wooden cabinets or alongside strong-smelling spices can lead to olfactory contamination, where the wax absorbs surrounding aromas. To maintain the purity of the hand-poured perfume, keep your vessels in a cool, dark place away from linens that might draw out the oils. This prevents the delicate top notes from dissipating before the first spark is even struck.

Does the specific intensity of a candle's cold throw accurately predict its fragrance strength once lit?

In our Indore studio, we view the 'cold throw'—the scent released by the soy wax while dormant—as a mere prologue to the full narrative. You may find that a subtle unlit aroma transforms into a deep, resonant presence once the heat of the flame activates the complex perfume oils. This thermal transition is deliberate; we compose our blends to bloom in layers rather than overwhelm the senses at first contact. The richness of the scent is best measured thirty minutes into the burn, when the liquid wax pool begins its slow, aromatic conversation with your living space.

Does the specific type of lid—metal or cork—impact the preservation of the candle’s top notes?

In our Indore studio, we view the lid as a functional seal for the candle’s olfactory narrative. While metal provides a hermetic barrier against environmental humidity, our hand-fitted cork lids offer a porous, breathable shield that allows the soy wax to mature without trapping volatile gases. Over time, a secure seal prevents the most delicate top notes—like bright citrus or soft florals—from dissipating into the ether. We recommend keeping your vessel covered whenever it is not lit; this simple act of preservation ensures that the first breath of fragrance remains as vivid as the day the wax was hand-poured.

Will burning scented candles in a small room be too overpowering for guests?

Scented candles crafted from soy wax release fragrance with a gentle, patient bloom rather than the sharp chemical surge common in mass-produced paraffin alternatives. In our Indore studio, we blend our 220g glass vessels to reach a sensory equilibrium that perfumes an intimate study or bedroom without saturating the air. If you are hosting guests in a smaller space, we recommend lighting the cotton wick for ninety minutes before they arrive to establish a soft base note, then extinguishing it. This allows the lingering aroma to remain sophisticated and subtle. Each small-batch pour is designed for a total burn time of forty-five to fifty hours of clean, balanced atmosphere.
