Festive Candles — for the evenings that actually matter

Indian festivals are lit, literally. A well-chosen candle sits alongside the diyas, the fairy lights and the food, adding a fragrance layer that people remember long after the sweets are eaten. Our festive collection is built for exactly those evenings — warm, celebratory blends made to be burned in the middle of a room full of people.

Saffron oud

Our most gifted festive fragrance. Saffron threads, aged oud, warm rose and a base of Mysore sandalwood. Reads as luxurious and grown-up.

Rose amber

Damask rose, amber, honey and a whisper of frankincense. A wedding and Karva Chauth favourite that fills a room without overwhelming it.

Mulled spice

Cinnamon bark, star anise, clove, orange peel and vanilla. Our Christmas and New Year staple — warm, spiced, immediately festive.

Why a candle earns its place at a festival

Festivals in India are already sensory events. There is food, light, colour, sound. Fragrance is the one axis most homes leave untended — a room lit with fifty diyas and playing Punjabi wedding music still smells like it did on a random Tuesday. A single well-chosen candle changes that. It gives the evening a scent memory, so guests remember the smell of your Diwali the way they remember what you served for dinner.

The trick is picking a candle that suits the occasion. Fresh citrus and clean cotton scents fall flat next to marigolds and diyas. What works instead is a warmer palette — saffron, oud, sandalwood, rose, spice, amber, honey. These blends have depth to match the emotional register of a festival, and they layer well with actual Indian food smells rather than fighting them.

Fragrances in our festive collection

Saffron oud: our best-selling festive candle for three years running. Real saffron threads infused into the fragrance oil, aged oud, damask rose and Mysore sandalwood at the base. Genuinely luxurious. Suits Diwali, weddings and any large gathering.

Rose amber: a softer, more feminine blend — damask rose, amber crystals, wild honey, and a small amount of frankincense. Beautiful for Karva Chauth, wedding functions, and quieter one-on-one evenings.

Mulled spice: cinnamon, clove, star anise, orange peel, vanilla bean and a splash of red wine accord. Our Christmas fragrance, but also popular for New Year house parties and cold January weekends.

Sandalwood & saffron: a temple-inspired blend of Mysore sandalwood, saffron, frankincense and cardamom. Meditative and traditional — a favourite for Ganesh Chaturthi, Navratri and other more devotional occasions.

Marigold & musk: an unexpected but much-loved festive blend — real marigold accord (green, slightly bitter, unmistakably Indian) softened with white musk. Suits Diwali, Onam and any festival where marigolds are already part of the decor.

Diwali specifically

Diwali is our largest festive season and we plan our production around it starting in June. We recommend placing orders at least two weeks before the festival to account for peak-season shipping — every year a small number of customers order in the final week and pay extra for express delivery to make the date.

For personal Diwali burning, one jar per major room is a good rule of thumb — living room, dining room, entryway. For gifting, our Diwali gift sets (three coordinated candles in a lined box, with a printed card) are the most popular purchase of the year. See the gifting page for the current sets and pricing.

For corporate Diwali gifting, we can custom-brand outer boxes and cards with your company details, and coordinate delivery to multiple addresses. Lead times for custom Diwali orders are three to four weeks. Contact us at least a month before Diwali to reserve production capacity.

Weddings, Karva Chauth and other family occasions

Beyond Diwali, candles are increasingly used to elevate other family and social occasions — mehndi and haldi ceremonies, wedding welcome hampers, Karva Chauth thalis, engagement parties, festive lunches. The fragrance choice matters less than the intent: a candle on a table communicates that the host has thought carefully about the evening.

Our rose amber and saffron oud jars are the two we most often recommend for wedding-adjacent gifting. Both are elegant, both work equally well for men and women, and both smell luxurious enough to feel like a considered gift rather than an obligation.

Christmas and New Year

For Christmas and December gifting, mulled spice is the obvious pick — cinnamon, orange, clove, vanilla. It smells like a good Christmas even in a warm Indian climate where snow is a distant idea. Our December range also includes a fir & pine blend for those who want a more traditionally 'Western Christmas' scent, and a warm vanilla and tonka for the quieter cosiness of a Christmas evening at home.

For New Year, most customers pick their favourite jar rather than a season-specific one — the goal is to end one year and open the next with something you actually enjoy. That said, saffron oud has become an unofficial New Year's Eve favourite, particularly for house parties.

Frequently Asked Questions

What are festive candles?
Candles blended and packaged for Indian festive occasions — Diwali, Christmas, New Year, weddings, Karva Chauth, Eid. The fragrances lean warm, spicy and celebratory: saffron, oud, rose, cardamom, sandalwood, amber and mulled spice.
Are your festive candles safe for indoor use?
Yes. All our candles use 100% natural soy wax, lead-free cotton wicks and IFRA-compliant fragrance oils. Burn on a stable, heat-safe surface, away from curtains, and never leave unattended.
Can I order festive candles in bulk for gifting?
Absolutely. We offer bulk pricing and custom packaging (branded cards, coordinated boxes, personalised messages) via our corporate gifting page. Order at least three weeks before your gifting date so we can pour, cure and finish the batch properly.
Do you deliver festive candles across India?
Yes — we ship pan-India from Indore. Standard shipping is 3 to 5 working days for most cities. For Diwali orders we recommend placing your order at least two weeks before the festival to account for peak-season courier delays.
What is the best festive scent for a gift?
Saffron oud, rose amber and mulled spice are our three most gifted festive fragrances. Saffron oud reads as luxurious and neutral, rose amber suits weddings and Karva Chauth, mulled spice is our Christmas favourite.
How long do festive candles burn?
40 to 45 hours for 200g jars, 75 to 80 hours for 400g. Enough to burn every evening through a full festive week without exhausting a single jar.
